Job Description

In the Operations department, the candidate will focus on Spanish projects and medium/large PPC projects with the support of the Team Leader Technical Manager and Delivery Manager. In parallel, the candidate will join a core expert team composed of 3 project managers and 5 technical managers, where the prioritization of human contact, professional growth, inclusiveness, and collaboration are at the forefront of the day-to-day interaction. Main objective of the position and Tasks Description (not limited)

  • The main activity will be focused on developing the technical solution for the Spanish Utility Scale project. The elaboration and execution will include:

    • Hardware Selection & Configuration (network, I/O interface, … etc)
    • Electrical design of the SCADA cabinet of the plant
    • Design network architecture of plants, ensuring speed of communication as well as high availability of Elum’s solution
    • Produce technical deliverables (Functional analyses, electrical diagrams, network architecture diagrams, I/O list, mapping of exchange tables, etc)
    • SCADA HMI design and implementation
    • Managing subcontractor’s activities
    • Technical alignment and clarification with the client
    • Master and configure Elum’s PPC solution and lead tests (onsite or remote) to ensure successful commissioning

      • Onsite activities are an important part of the Technical manager’s role, a profound interest for such activities is mandatory
  • Complementary tasks will include:

    • Level 2 support and maintenance of sites in service
    • Support other delivery team members in their activities
    • Design device integration in order to enlarge Elum compatibility with BESS, Genset Controller or other.
    • Conduct detailed assessments and evaluations of project requirements and risks for project in pre-sales phases
    • Coordinate quality assurance and testing processes to ensure the functionality, reliability, and safety of the commissioning of Elum solutions
    • Lead internal projects to establish practices, templates, policies, tools, and partnerships to expand and mature Delivery team’s quality and efficiency
    • Create and animate trainings to newcomers or other Elum colleagues
    • Identify and analyze bugs and product improvements to help advance Elum’s solutions

Preferred Experience

  • Master's degree in Electrical Engineering and/or Renewable Energy, or a related field,

  • Proven experience (5 to 10 years) as a Project Engineer or Technical Manager in SCADA and control system projects, within the photovoltaic power industry. Experience in utility scale in Spain is a requirement

    • Experience of on-site activities is strongly appreciated
  • Understanding of the control systems for BESS, Hybrid and off-grid projects will be appreciated

  • In-depth knowledge of SCADA architectures, control systems, and their application in photovoltaic power plants. Knowledge of ATVISE solution is a big plus

  • Familiarity with industry standards and communication protocols such as Modbus, IEC104, OPC UA, IEC 61850, OCPP, among others.

  • Knowledge of Linux environment

  • IT Network architecture (VPN, VLANs, Redundancy, OSI TCP/IP Model, etc) 

  • Development in Python, C++, Matlab would be a plus.

  • Knowledge in energy systems modeling (Powerfactory DIgSILENT, PSS/E, PSCAD, …)

  • Full fluency (verbal and written) in :

    • English
    • Spanish
    • Knowledge of French is a big plus
    • Any other language will be considered as a strong asset
